TIPI at the IFOAM-Goesan International Organic Expo 2022

The TIPI (Technology Innovation Platform of IFOAM - Organics International ) had a notable presence at the IFOAM-Goesan International Organic Expo + Industry Fair in South Korea in September 2022. This event also marked the 50th anniversary of IFOAM - Organics International, celebrating five decades of promoting organic agriculture worldwide.

Several TIPI Council members attended the expo, including Andrew Hammermeister from the Organic Agriculture Centre of Canada, MohammadReza Rezapanah representing ranian Research Institute of Plant Protection (IRIPP) + Association of Iranian Plant Protection Scientific Societies (AIPPSS), Iran, Gerold Rahmann from the Thünen Institute, Germany, Tanveer Hossein, IFOAM Asia, Bangladesh, Brian Baker, USA (TIPI president).

Highlights of the Event

During a workshop that featured IFOAM’s Sector Groups, Brian Baker presented TIPI's achievements and challenges. He emphasized the importance of focusing on farmer-driven research and innovation. Baker committed TIPI to collaborate closely with the Intercontinental Network of Organic Farmers Organisations (INOFO) to foster mutual benefits and synergies.

Strategic Meetings and Collaboration Efforts

The TIPI delegation also organized strategic meetings with members of the World Board and Jennifer Chang, Executive Director of IFOAM Asia. These discussions aimed to enhance collaboration and provide technical support for the advancement of organic agriculture.
